I started my career as an RN in 1997 and I have practiced as a Nurse Practitioner since 2003.
I got into medicine because, when I was 21, my father was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer. He passed away within 1 month of his diagnosis. As hard as that experience was, I learned to love the nurses and how they helped their patients during very difficult times. I realized during this time that medicine was my calling. I aim to treat my patients like I would treat my loved ones.
I am most fulfilled in my profession when I feel connected to my patients.
If I could give one piece of advice to my patients, it would be that life is short, live every day to its fullest!
